A splendid exhibition of seldom seen Oceanic weapons and armament was held at the Galerie Meyer in the summer of 1989. Weapons of great beauty from Melanesia and Polynesia (New Guinea, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Maori, Australian Aboriginal) and an astounding Gilbert Island suit of armor were exhibited. This catalogue of the exhibition--limited to a printing of 1000 copies--contains a brief French text and very good photographs of about 125 weapons.
