ARCHAEOLOGICAL INVESTIGATIONS ON THE ISLAND OF LA PLATA, ECUADOR

Field Museum Anthropological Series, Vol. II, No. 5, 1901. Pp 247-280 (some uncut) of text containing 10 figures and 2 fold-out maps, plus 62 pages of photographs of objects. Item #7704

Though more than one hundred years old, the copies we have on hand of this study are in fine condition. One of the first investigations to be made of this island, the 1892 expedition led by the author was remarkably productive. The unearthed treasure cache made its way to the Field Museum, where it was later exhibited. Many of the finer objects are illustrated in the photographs; the text provides details on the objects unearthed, with particular emphasis on stylistic differences.
