The multicolored Cocle ceramic wares excavated at Sitio Conte in central Panama during the 1930s were decorated with a combination of geometrical forms and depictions of birds and beasts. Many of these ceramics were unearthed in caches and burials directly associated with persons of high status. In this monograph the motifs and characteristics of the pre-Columbian ceramic art are fully discussed and examined.
