With many of the lots drawn from the collections of Mrs. Stella Pitt-Rivers and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this auction offered many objects of unusually high quality. Among the top prices realized were a 13th/14th century Nepalese copper-gilt figure that brought 9,900 lbs, an 8th century Jain bronze group that sold for 5,500 lbs, and a late 18th/early 19th century decan painted cotton pichhavai that went for 4,950 lbs.
