A dazzling exhibition of masks of the Bantu peoples of Zaire and northern Angola was exhibited in 1993 and 1994 at the Ethnographic Museum, Antwerp and Washington D.C.'s Nastional Museum of African Art. This comprehensive exhibition surveys the masks and masking traditions of these peoples and illustrates them in large, excellent photographs. Essays that discuss the masks were contributed by fifteen scholars.
