This publication resulted from four visits made in 1927 and 1928 by the author, one of the leading authorities on the ethnology and archaeology of this region. Though not a heavily detailed study, the text, nonetheless, provides data, information, and conclusions unavailable in any other publicaton. This study's text and very good illustrations make it one of the scarcest publications on the Southern Mayas.
