Holmes 1897 study of the monuments and figures of Chiapas, Oaxaca and the Valley of Mexico was one of the earliest serious archaeological studies of the area, and remains one of the most respected. These copies of the original edition, now over 100 years old and in remarkably fine condition other than for some chipping on the spines or wrappers, are unused and have some uncut pages.
